My work tends to start with an ambiguous problem rather than a tidy specification. I help shape the technical approach, build the product, and carry it far enough into production that reliability, security, and operations are part of the design — not an afterthought.
What I work on
- Applied AI systems. Retrieval-augmented generation, document understanding, model fine-tuning, and evaluation. I’ve built RAG systems for government and commercial clients, including tools that help veterans navigate complex VA documentation.
- Products around the models. Applications and pipelines that connect document extraction, knowledge graphs, training-data generation, model training, and evaluation into something people can actually use.
- Infrastructure and delivery. Cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, and automated delivery. My background in DevOps keeps deployment, reliability, and operations in the product conversation from the start.
Current work
At Coforma, I help lead an internal innovation team, taking new products from early prototypes to production. That includes shaping technical strategy, building across the stack, and mentoring engineers. Much of my recent work centers on making complex information useful through AI: retrieval systems, document analysis, and small language models trained for specialized domains.
How I got here
Before Coforma, I spent five years at Ceros working on cloud infrastructure and software delivery, alongside projects in machine learning, retrieval, and real-time voice AI. Earlier roles at JPMorgan Chase and Farmers Insurance focused on release engineering, deployment automation, and data infrastructure.
That path took me from the systems that run software to the products people interact with. I still work across both. An AI feature needs a useful interface, a way to evaluate its output, and a dependable system behind it.
I hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science from the University of South Florida.
Beyond the day job
I’m a board member and volunteer with St. Francis Society Animal Rescue in Tampa Bay. My board work focuses on technology: helping the rescue choose and build systems for its website, adoption and foster workflows, and volunteer coordination within a nonprofit budget.
The hands-on work matters to me, too. Since 2025, I’ve helped with web and app development, cat transport between shelters, fosters, and veterinary appointments, medical-supply deliveries, and occasional fostering. Sometimes the most useful thing I can do is write software; sometimes it’s driving a cat to the vet.
